• NTO Technology may be used for production of nano spinel and nanocarbon powders, which may be used as an additive for refractories and concrete products.
  • Advantages of the Novotech composite material (nano-carbon aluminum-magnesium spinel) in refractory production:
    • Nano-structured coating of graphite particles with aluminum-magnesium spinel protects graphite, as well as forms new high-melting spinel phases in the structure of the refractory. During the operation of the refractory, as such dispersed carbon burns out, a finely porous ceramic structure is formed that is capable of preventing the penetration of slag and dampening thermal stresses, preventing the development of cracks in the structure of the refractory.
    • The use of Novotech’s composite ensures during the heating the formation of an organic binder (an analogue of resin) of a ceramic-carbon matrix between MgO grains. In general, such a hybrid matrix provides higher heat resistance and strength of the product due to better adhesion between MgO grains and the presence of spinel nanophases on the surface of refractory grains.
    • Granules of the Novotech composite are easily introduced into both organic binders and refractory concrete. Thanks to their coating, encapsulated graphite particles are better wetted by water when used in refractory concrete, which reduces water consumption. Granules maintain the integrity of the composition during storage, transportation, or mixing with refractory powders.
    • The Novotech composite is non-explosive when sprayed, which simplifies its storage compared to metal antioxidants and coal dust.
  • A key advantage of the proposed materials is their economic effectiveness as a result of their low cost of production.
