  • NTMET Colloids have powerful antibacterial properties that can kill or inhibit the growth of a wide range of bacteria, viruses and fungi, making it useful for preventing skin infections, reducing inflammation of irritated skin, etc.
  • Cosmetics and cosmeceuticals:

Colloidal silver is registered in the INCI as an ingredient that imparts antimicrobial and antibacterial properties and is widely used in cosmeceutical products (creams, lotions, soaps, shampoos, toothpaste, in decorative cosmetics, etc.). Studies of the therapeutic properties exhibited by silver nanoparticles have shown that they have pronounced antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties (fight microbes and fungi), and reduce dryness and flaking, redness and inflammation of the skin. Since it can neutralize odors, colloidal silver is sometimes used in deodorant formulations and body care products. It is also used as a natural preservative due to its antimicrobial activity.

  • Medical Applications:

Silver nanoparticles are widely used in medical applications, in wound dressings to combat infections, speed up wound healing, and restore skin (e.g. to treat acne scars, burns or other skin injuries).

  • Household Uses:

Silver nanoparticles are widely used in household cleaning products due to their deodorizing effect.

  • Conductive Composites:

The incorporation of silver particles into plastics, composites, and adhesives increases the electrical conductivity of the material. The use of nanoparticles instead of micron particles of conductive filler in composites improves the mechanical properties of the composite and  significantly improve its electrical conductivity. Silver pastes and epoxy resins are widely used in the electronics industry. Inks based on silver nanoparticles are used to print flexible electronics and have the advantage that the melting point of small silver nanoparticles in the ink is reduced by hundreds of degrees compared to bulk silver.
